Blue Sky Ranch, photographed.

A 3,500-acre ranch resort north of Park City, where the meadow is the venue and the architecture stays out of the way.

Blue Sky reads photographically the way Yellowstone reads in a magazine: enormous, quiet, designed for the landscape to be the principal voice in every frame. The ceremony spaces sit on open meadow with the Uintas in the distance; the reception barns are timber, with light enough that we shoot through dinner without bringing strobes.

Couples who choose Blue Sky are usually looking for a day that doesn't feel like a venue at all. We adjust accordingly. The portrait timeline runs longer (the property has six or seven worth visiting), the editing stays cool and dry to honor the sage palette, and we plan around the wind, which the meadow has opinions about.

Other venues we photograph.

  1. 4U Ranch

A working ranch on the back side of Park City. Open meadows, an aspen line, and light that holds an hour longer than it does in town.

    Park City
  2. Thanksgiving Point

Fifty acres of formal gardens, a glass conservatory, and an indoor ballroom that holds up when the Utah weather doesn't.

    Lehi
  3. Wild Oak

A walled garden estate in Lindon, twenty minutes south of Salt Lake. The smallest venue we shoot at, and the one that rewards the slowest pace.
